Described by the New York Times as "the robust-voiced baritone" Luke Scott has performed leading roles with Orchestras and Opera companies in Canada and the US. A graduate of The Hartt School of Music and Bel Canto Scholarship Foundation grant winner his opera credits include Figaro in (Le Nozze di Figaro) Opera on the Avalon, Malatesta in (Don Pasquale) Salt Marsh Opera, Peter in (Hansel und Gretel) Opera Theater of CT, Taddeo in (L’Italiana in Algeri) Taconic Opera, Count Almaviva in (Le Nozze di Figaro) Martina Arroyo foundation, Argante in (Rinaldo) Boston Opera Collaborative, and Leporello in (Don Giovanni) Opera Western Reserve. Concert and symphony appearances range from the Brahms Requiem with Newburyport Chorale Society, Mozart Requiem with Connecticut Virtuosi Orchestra, Caramoor Bel Canto festival, clinician with El Sistema orchestra in Venezuel, Handel Alexander’s Feast with New Haven Chorale, soloist with Cape Cod Symphony, and a winner of the New England Concerto competition. His past past season held engagements of Escamillo (Carmen) with Maryland Symphony, Frank (Die Fledermaus) with Opera Theater of Connecticut, Bonze (Madame Butterfly) with Salt Marsh Opera, Sam (Trouble in Tahiti) with Yale Cabaret Theater, Handel's Messiah with Eastern Connecticut Symphony, Mephistopheles
(Faust) with Boston Opera Collaborative, Haydn Creation with Newton Choral Society, the NewYork premier of Figaro 90210, and Emille de Becque* (South Pacific) at St Petersburg Opera. This season after his role of Escamillo (Carmen) with Opera Western Reserve and a debut with Opera in Williamsburg he returned to New York's Broadway district in the critically acclaimed revival of Figaro 90210 then continued to Boston's Opera Brittenica for the world premiere of Noli Me Tangere followed by performances at the Oregon Bach festival, Don Giovanni with Salt Marsh Opera, and will debut with Odyssey Opera in Trial at Rouen. Mr. Scott has received awards from the Martina Arroyo Foundation, the American Prize in opera, Bel Canto Scholarship Foundation, Chautauqua Inst., Amici Foundation, Shreveport Opera Singer of the Year, Violetta Dupont Foundation, and Gerda Lissner Foundation.
